Mine is the Sunlight, Mine is the Morning

Sun and River, simply stunning at 6 A.M. and 7 below.
Morning Has Broken

Morning has broken, like the first morning
Blackbird has spoken, like the first bird
Praise for the singing, praise for the morning
Praise for them springing fresh from the world

Sweet the rain’s new fall, sunlit from heaven
Like the first dewfall, on the first grass
Praise for the sweetness of the wet garden
Sprung in completeness where His feet pass

Mine is the sunlight, mine is the morning
Born of the one light, Eden saw play
Praise with elation, praise every morning
God’s re-creation of the new day

  1. We have this in our hymnal at church and every time we sing it, I want to sing the "Cat Stevens" version instead. :c) Lovely song.

  2. Gorgeous photo! I can hear Cat Stevens in my head, which is not a bad thing!

  3. Wonderful photograph! I love Cat Stevens (can never get used to his other name) and this is one of my favorites.

  4. Beautiful - love the photo. Hope that you are keeping well,

  5. One of my favorite songs/hymns too.

  6. Beautiful. Hope the pipe thingy is okay. Am thinking of you and Luke. Love, Jessie

  7. What a gorgeous picture Donna. But -7 degrees. Yikes. I really enjoyed your post about your Dad having read many books about D-day. How brave they all were.

  8. Gorgeous photo, and yes, a beautiful hymn!

  9. Donna - what a stunner photograph. Nice to see another fan of Cat Stevens (Yusuf Islam). I have always loved his music and this one seems particularly fitting for the majestic scenery shown. I hope your joy is greater than your sorrow and that you are finding some magic in this festive season. Love and hugs ...
