A Widow's Collection of Inspirational Scenes

These are all photos I've taken since my husband died in 2009. I know that he is always with me, but I feel closest to him when I am outdoors in the Cathedral of Nature. Many places claim to be "God's Country:" here are a few I've found in Idaho, Utah, Oregon and Montana. Sometimes, it's in my own back yard, if I look close enough.

  1. A beautiful compilation Donna. You have been to such wonderful scenic places.
I did not realize that your son had kidney failure and a stroke this year until I re-read your profile full of such incredible and heartbreaking challenges.
I have a friend who undergoes dialysis for many hours a week also- he is so tired! I think continuing encouragement counts for a lot for our dear ones in this position.
God bless Donna, may you find continuing strength to do both your important work and to deal with loss with such a brave and admirable attitude..
You shine such a strong light on the word courage.

  2. That was so beautiful and inspirational. Thank you so much for sharing this. You are a lady to be admired.

  3. and then you reappeared. I'm so glad to hear from you Donna and distraught to read the news of your son illness and its effect. I'm glad though you found the Cathdral of Nature as you called it. I has given me much solace since the loss of my son in 1997 to the effect of bi-polar disease. He and I shared a common passion for the great outdoors and lived it to the fullest with as the wonder and joy it provides. I am close there with him as you are with your husband. Your pictures are gorgeous. Welldone. God bless Donna. :)

  4. Donna, your collection of photos is inspiring. I am so taken with what you have written in your profile. In spite of all you have been through you are filling your life with meaning, and sharing it with others through your blogging. Thank you.

  5. Donna, these are stunning photographs, a real joy to share with you. And I loved the birds singing along.
